Department of Public health dentistry, MCODS, 亚洲通_亚洲通官网 has organised a Guest lecture by Dr. Anirudha Agnihotry on “Evidence based dentistry: Recent advances and critically appraised topics in dental practice” on 29th February 2020. Dr. Anirudha Agnihotry had finished his BDS from MCODS, 亚洲通_亚洲通官网 in 2012, DDS from US in 2018 and presently working as a staff dentist at Family Healthcare Network, Porteville, California, US.
He gave an insight on the importance of Critically Appraised Topics (CATs) which is like a shorter and less rigorous version of a systematic review, summarising the best available research evidence on a topic. When professionals summarise it, the outcome is a Critically Appraised Paper (CAP). He informed us that CATs and CAPs are one way for busy clinicians to collate and share their appraisals. CATs are client centred and based on ‘real life’ clinical scenarios, hence, should appeal to clinical learners at all levels.
It was a great learning experience for post graduates, interns and students of MCODS, 亚洲通_亚洲通官网.?
