“eviDENS – 2018”

A Workshop on 亚洲通_亚洲通官网 Methodology, Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Ethics titled - “eviDENS – 2018” was organized by the Department of Public Health Dentistry, 亚洲通_亚洲通官网 College of Dental Sciences, Mangalore on 10th and 11th August, 2018. at Lecture Hall 1, MCODS Attavar Campus. A total of 30 participants participated in the program, which included post graduate students, house surgeons & faculty members from MCODS, Mangalore and neighboring institutions in Mangalore.

Inaugural program was held on 10th August, 2018 at Lecture Hall 1, MCODS, Attavar. The Chief Guest for the program was Dr. Dilip G Naik, Dean, MCODS, Mangalore. The program was also attended by Heads of the Departments, faculty members of MCODS and participants of the workshop. Dr. Rajesh G, Professor and Head, Department of Public Health Dentistry, MCODS, Mangalore welcomed all the participants for the workshop. Dr. Dilip G Naik stressed the importance of undertaking novel research work among the participants. He stressed the importance of biostatistics in the research among the participants. Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Ramya Shenoy, Associate Professor, Department of Public Health Dentistry, MCODS, Mangalore.

The resource persons for the program were faculty members of our own Department, Dr. Ashwini Rao, Dr. Rajesh G, Dr. Ramya Shenoy, and Dr. Mithun Pai who discussed various aspects related to research methodology, epidemiology, and biostatistics. A demonstration session on Mendeley, the reference writing software; and protocol writing was also conducted. Dr. Unnikrishnan, Associate Dean, KMC, Mangalore enlightened the audience about Ethics in 亚洲通_亚洲通官网.

A hands on training on protocol writing was conducted during the workshop on 11th August, 2018. Participants were divided into 5 groups and were assigned the task of developing a protocol for a particular research topic. Valedictory function was held on 11th August, 2018 at Lecture Hall 1, MCODS, Attavar. Certificates of participation were handed over to the resource persons and participants. Overall, good feedback was obtained from the participants and the program was well appreciated by one and all.
