Dentistry: Now & Beyond

The Department of Public Health Dentistry, 亚洲通_亚洲通官网 College of Dental Sciences, Mangalore had conducted an 亚洲通_亚洲通官网 Symposium on Dentistry titled “Dentistry: Now and Beyond” on 28th December, 2017 at Lecture Hall 1, MCODS Attavar Campus. A total of 50 participants participated in the program, which included house surgeons, post graduate students & faculty members from MCODS, Mangalore and neighboring institutions in Mangalore.

Inaugural program was held on 28th December, 2017 at Lecture Hall 1, MCODS, Attavar. The Chief Guest for the program was Dr. Dilip G Naik, Dean, MCODS, Mangalore. The program was also attended by Heads of the Departments, faculty members of MCODS and participants of the workshop. Dr. Rajesh G, Professor and Head, Department of Public Health Dentistry, MCODS, Mangalore welcomed all the participants for the event. Dr. Dilip G Naik highlighted the changing demands of dental practice in modern times. He also highlighted the importance of collating data on oral health in Dakshina Kannada region. Dr. Ashwini Rao, Professor, Department of Public Health Dentistry, MCODS, Mangalore introduced the esteemed guest speakers for the symposium. Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Mithun Pai, Associate Professor, Department of Public Health Dentistry, MCODS, Mangalore.?

The resource persons for the program were Dr. Amit Chattopadhyay, Adjunct Professor of Oral Medicine, Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine, Cleveland, OH, USA; Dr. Santosh Tadakamadala, 亚洲通_亚洲通官网 fellow, Menzies Health Institute Queensland, Griffith university, Australia; and Dr. Rekha Shenoy, Professor, Department of Public Health Dentistry, Yenepoya Dental College, Mangalore. Dr. Amit highlighted various career options for dental professionals in the US. He compared and contrasted the earlier and current career opportunities in the US.?

The participants of the symposium provided good feedback and the program was well appreciated by one and all.?
