CURRENT ACADEMIC ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Dr. Edlin Mathias is specialized in evidence synthesis methods and quantitative research. Her research focuses on child and adolescent health, pain management, non-communicable diseases, and economic evaluation. She holds a Ph.D. in nonpharmacological pain management interventions for children undergoing surgery. She is a Cochrane Staff Member at the MAHE Cochrane Affiliate Centre and is involved in evidence synthesis at the Centre for Evidence-informed Decision-making at the Prasanna School of Public Health, MAHE.
She leads projects on Health Technology Assessments, cost-effectiveness evaluations, and policy formulation. Dr. Mathias also provides training in evidence synthesis methods, including systematic reviews, rapid reviews, and mixed-method reviews. Her work empowers researchers to generate high-quality evidence for healthcare decision-making and clinical research. Additionally, she offers consultancy services for evidence synthesis projects and collaborates on multidisciplinary research initiatives.
