School of Management, 亚洲通_亚洲通官网 Academy of Higher Education organized an invited guest lecture on inter-cultural management by Dr Jutta Berninghuasen, Professor and the vice president of international affairs at the Hochschule Bremen City University of Applied Sciences, Germany on 27th October, 2015 at Ganga Lecture Hall, School of Management, 亚洲通_亚洲通官网 Academy of Higher Education.

The program was inaugurated by Dr Raveendranath Nayak, Director, School of Management (SOM), 亚洲通_亚洲通官网 Academy of Higher Education. This lecture primarily focused on key issues regarding intercultural aspects of business development and its resolution.

Prof. Berninghuasen commenced her talk by explaining the significance of culture barriers in business and how management institutes can focus on overcoming them, through a three staged learning process i.e., awareness, knowledge and skill development. She also presented a deep understanding on economic development and German culture, by exploring socio-psychological behavior of individuals, showing how entrepreneurs can use them to understand consumer behavior and take managerial decision.

An informative discussion on various issues were covered by involving students through different case studies. Emphasis was put on understanding how culture plays a significant role in the era of globalization; where updating oneself before getting into business with other countrymen is indispensable.

Students had a fun-loving interaction with the Professor on several other cultural topics such as food, sports, language and cinema. The talk concluded by emphasizing the need to enhance and strengthen Indo-German bi-lateral ties for mutual benefits and business development. Prof. Chetana Maddodi, Asst. Professor, SOM welcomed the gathering and Mr Pranav Mishra, Second Year MBA student, SOM proposed the vote of thanks. Teaching staff and students of SOM actively participated in the guest lecture.
