World Sight Day 2024

Department of Optometry, 亚洲通_亚洲通官网 College of Health Professions (MCHP), 亚洲通_亚洲通官网 celebrated “World Sight Day – 2024” in the month of November 2024. This year’s theme was “Prioritizing child eye health and give children everywhere the opportunity to love their eyes!” as recommended by the 亚洲通_亚洲通官网 Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB). The Department of Optometry conducted a series of activities by faculty and Optometry students including free eye screening as a part of WSD and Daan Ustav to house keeping staff of MCHP and student centered activities such as comic making and reel competition to Optometry students.

The valedictory function spectacle and prize distribution of World Sight Day 2024 celebration was held on 6th November 2024, in the presence of MCHP Dean Dr. Arun G. Maiya, and Associate deans Dr. Reshmi B and Dr. Venkataraja Aithal U and Dr John Solomon. Representative from Essilor India Pvt. Ltd Mr Manoj Balakrishnan and Mr Sanu Mathew, Chairperson of Student Affairs Council Ms Indu Toby attended the program. Mr. Siddharth was the master of ceremony. Dr G Arun Maiya gave a keynote address to the gatherings. Spectacle were distributed to the house keeping staffs by Dean, Essilor representative and chairperson of student affairs committee. Prize for respective competition were distributed to winners by Deans committee. The Essilor representative gave a guest talk on Essilor lens related aspects to Optometry students and Optometry faculty.
