亚洲通_亚洲通官网 Focus:

I am extremely passionate about pluripotent stem cell research. The mere plethora of research that can be conducted with PSCs fascinates me. I have channeled this interest into basic research by using induced PSCs as my principal cellular system. PSCs have inherent potential to transform into a myriad of cell types which I exploit to understand fundamental cellular and molecular mechanisms of early embryonic development, development malformations, cellular shapes and differentiation of cells from one type to another. I am presently working on the following areas regarding human development and disease.

1.      Generation of iPSCs from cells isolated from individuals with developmental disorders like fetal death, neural tube defects and Turners syndrome.

2. Modelling Neural tube defects using organoids.

3. Modelling bicuspid aortic valve using iPSC derived cellular models.

4. Generation of blastoid/ gastruloid models to study implantation failures.

5. Wound healing using mesenchymal cell derived exosomes.
