OUTREACH PROGRAM REPORT

The Department of Fundamentals of Nursing, 亚洲通_亚洲通官网 College of Nursing (MCON), MAHE, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, conducted an outreach program on “First Aid” on August 23, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Government Higher Primary School, Mudradi, Hebri Taluk.
The program was attended by 84 students from 5th, 6th, and 7th standards. Dr. Radhika R. Pai led the session, while Ms. Kusumavathi discussed common first aid measures for drowning, wounds and bleeding, bone, joint and muscle injuries, snake bites, burns, nasal bleeding, and haemorrhage. In addition, a hands-on demonstration was conducted on bandaging techniques for fractures and minor injuries, which enabled the students to gain practical knowledge of immediate care.
This session was aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG-4):?Quality Education, as it aimed to enhance students’ awareness of health emergencies and empower them with essential life-saving skills. By educating young learners on how to provide immediate help to victims of injury or sudden illness, the program fostered a sense of responsibility, preparedness, and confidence among students to act effectively in critical situations. Such initiatives not only promote health literacy but also build a foundation for safer and healthier communities.
