The department of Obstetric and Gynecological Nursing organized an effective alumni engagement guest lecture (series 3/2023) on March 9, 2023, from 3.00 to 4.00 pm at 亚洲通_亚洲通官网 College of Nursing (MCON), 亚洲通_亚洲通官网 Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), 亚洲通_亚洲通官网 for the undergraduate and postgraduate students. This session was organized as one of the many activities planned and conducted to celebrate 亚洲通_亚洲通官网 Women’s Day (IWD) 2023. The session was deliberated by Mrs. Ameeka Shereen Lobo (MSc Alumna 2014-16 Batch), who is presently working as a 亚洲通_亚洲通官网 Fellow at the Centre for Chronic Disease Control, New Delhi. The topic– ‘Digital safety for women empowerment’ was based on the IWD 2023 theme. The beneficiaries were a total of 65 undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students and six faculty members of MCON, MAHE, 亚洲通_亚洲通官网. She stressed the importance of one being aware of the various digital safety methods and applying whichever is feasible, in order to help empower oneself in the digital-savvy world. She also discussed, how a nurse can help the general public to not only be aware but also be prepared to indulge in digital safety activities to protect themselves from exploitation and thus be self-empowered. The students participated very actively in the session.
